Blind Date with a Star
5:30 pm – 12 pm - On Jan 23 at 5:30 the blind date of your life begins. The Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia presents Blind Date with a Star their premier fundraising event for children with learning disabilites.Local celebrities will be paired with groups of 10 to attend 1 of 50 fine dining establishments in Halifax/Dartmouth.

In the Dead of Winter Music Festival
The In the Dead of Winter Festival is an acoustic based festival that is held in Halifax annually on the last weekend of January. The festival aims to showcase the diversity of acoustic music in the Atlantic Region, Canada, and the United States. It is of particular importance to the festival to not only celebrate the excellence of our musicians but to also provide venues for artists who have not yet had the opportunity to perform their music to a wider audience. Scotties Provincial Curling Championship
9am – 9pm, CFB Curling Club, Windsor Park, 6441 Hawk Terrace. Eight curling teams will take to the ice to compete to represent Nova Scotia at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Canadian Women's Curling Championship in Red Deer Alberta. The CFB Curling Club in Halifax is set to host the provincial championship and welcome qualifying teams as well as approximately 600 spectators throughout the five day event including local curlers, curling fans, media and sponsors.
